Twice the Fun Tuesday: Old Mattresses

An old mattress that is on its way out to the dump may be good for a few good jumps out in the back yard (especially for children who have always wanted to jump on their beds and are not allowed to). Or it might also put in a few extra days' hard work as a puppet stage!

Here you see my sister and I standing on chairs behind an old foam mattress that we covered with printer paper (remember those old printers?!) and painted on for scenery. I don't know how many unfortunate souls we forced to sit through our puppet plays those couple of days, but I'm sure it was a lot.

Even if you don't have an old mattress to get rid of right now, you might rip the sheets off one of your beds and steal the mattress for an afternoon in order to inspire any young puppeteers around your house to new heights of greatness. :-)

If you have more than one mattress on hand, maybe you can make some fun tunnels like my cousin and her dad!

For more great tips today head on over here.

Do you have an everyday item that you have put to new use? Please feel free to post a link to it here. I would be so thrilled to see your idea- even if it's a simple one. You don't have to link back to this site (although it would be great if you wanted to). I only ask that the link be family-friendly and that you link directly to the post and not some other place on your website.
