Giving Away Body Parts! Week of September 17

This giveaway has ended. The winner's name is posted here. Be sure to check back this Friday for the start of another great giveaway!

Welcome to Having Fun at Home's first GIVEAWAY!
This week I am giving away three classic children's books in mint condition:

The Foot Book, The Ear Book, and the Hair Book (out of print).

Only one of them is by Dr. Seuss, but they are all very fun. My 14 month old baby is already a huge fan. There is something about the rhyming, rhythm, and overall silliness that is just irresistible to little kids. Irresistible to parents too- I don't get sick of reading these kinds of books over and over as quickly as I tire of reading most other books.

Leave a comment below to be entered in the giveaway. One person will be randomly chosen to win all three books. I will announce the winner next Wednesday.

THE FOOT BOOK!

You have no idea how much I adored that book! I memorized the ENTIRE thing... Left foot, left foot, right foot, right.... feet in the morning, feet at night... I could read the book out loud in a minute... I loved it. My sister was little then, and I would show her how good I was with the book... she loved me reading it to her, which was why I learned how to read it so fast [and because she'd make me read it to her so much]. My brother too, I would sit there and read it to them... they thought it was funny. It brings back such good memories... but out of all of Suess' books that one is my favorite.

Thanks! I had forgotten about it, it was really good to remember that.

I am a true believer that a child is never too young to start reading too, I began reading to my daughter during her morning feedings everyday when we come home from the hospital and continued reading at breakfast time for many years, as she got older we changed our reading time to afternoon snack time. After she began to read herself we had to change the time to before dinner, she continued to read on her own all through school even when it wasn't a class assignment. My daughter has always brought home report cards with A's and B's, when she started at the local Community College to earn her Associates Degree, she was on the Dean's List and now while she's working on her Bachelors Degree, she's been granted special permission from the Dean to take more credit hours than a student is normally aloud during a term, for the next 2 terms so that she can earn her Degree earlier and move on to her Masters. I know that reading to her and helping her learn to read before she stared school has helped her all these years in school. I have began reading to my grandson and working with him and it would be very nice to have some new books to add to our worn ones, we're reading several of the books that my daughter and I read when she was little. Thank you for the chance to give him some extra variety and for helping educate another child.
